How to use this tool
Trade Replay lets you click any historical candle and ask: if I bought or sold here, what would RSI, MACD and volume have suggested — and what happened next?
How it works
- Select a pair and timeframe (15m, 1h, 4h), then click a candle on the chart.
- Toggle Simulate BUY or Simulate SELL to test long or short entries at that close price.
- The indicator signal scores RSI oversold/overbought, MACD cross and volume vs MA20 to suggest buy, sell or wait.
- Forward outcome shows returns after 1, 4, 12, 24, 48 and 72 bars plus max favorable / adverse excursion.
- Use contrarian clicks (against the signal) to test fading overcrowded RSI extremes.
What to consider
- Simulation uses the candle close as entry — not intra-bar fills or slippage.
- Short simulation inverts returns mathematically — not identical to exchange margin shorts.
- Indicators need ~20 prior bars — very early candles cannot be replayed.
- Educational tool only — past bar behavior does not predict future results.
- Combine with Backtest Indicators for systematic strategy ranking across many pairs.
