How to use this tool
Sector Performance ranks CoinGecko categories by cap-weighted returns. Compare which narratives are winning or losing over 24h, 7d and 30d.
How it works
- The hero shows equal-weight average sector change and the current leader vs laggard.
- Switch 24h / 7d / 30d to change the performance window.
- The bar chart ranks all tracked sectors; click a row for top constituent coins.
- Outperform / Underperform filters sectors with change above +1.5% or below −1.5%.
- Market cap and volume are aggregated from the top coins in each category.
What to consider
- Category returns are cap-weighted from top constituents — not every coin in the sector is included.
- Overlapping coins can appear in multiple sectors (e.g. ETH in L1 and DeFi).
- Stablecoins and wrapped tokens are excluded from the default sector set.
- CoinGecko category definitions change over time; ranks can shift when taxonomy updates.
- Data refreshes every ~30 minutes via scp-sector-performance timer.
