How to use this tool
Total Market Cap tracks the aggregate capitalization of the crypto market using CoinGecko global data, paired with PEPS flow-based dominance for context.
How it works
- The headline figure is CoinGecko total_market_cap in USD or EUR, refreshed about every 10 minutes with a local cache at global_market.json.
- 24h change comes from CoinGecko market_cap_change_percentage_24h_usd; regime labels classify expansion, growth, stable, cooling or contraction.
- BTC and ETH cap share are cap-weighted dominance from CoinGecko — distinct from PIE whale-flow BTC dominance in the context cards.
- The trend chart plots rolling snapshots stored locally when the cache refreshes (about every 30 minutes).
- PIE market signal and confidence come from the intelligence engine market analyst cache.
What to consider
- CoinGecko global cap includes all tracked assets — methodology differs from exchange-only or stablecoin-excluded indices.
- Cap-weighted BTC dominance is not the same as PIE on-chain flow dominance shown alongside.
- Local history builds over time — the chart needs multiple cache refreshes before showing a meaningful trend.
- CoinGecko rate limits may delay refreshes; stale cache is served when the API is unavailable.
- Not financial advice — market cap aggregates spot valuations, not realized liquidity or macro risk.
